Blocking AIM Access 1

What ports need to be blocked to stop users on our LAN from using AOL Instant Messenger. Blocking total access to AOL would also be helpful as well.

I think it is enough to block Port 1029

The clever user on your network may still access the AIM web client, AIM express.

An nslookup of that will tell you what IPs to block. Marc Creviere

Thanks for everyone's help. I installed a netgear security router that let me block everything I wanted EASILY.

Which of the fixes took care of blocking total AIM access? I'd like to do it as well. Thanks!

Actually I replaced the router with a Netgear Security Router and it has the ability to block AOL services as well as lots of other features.
