Blocking Adds

Does anybody know how to block ads poping up? Every time I go to some web sites another window with an ad pop up. How do I disable this feeture. I am running IE 6.0 on windows 98.

Unfortunatly there is no option for it in IE, you have to get some software for it.......

I use a freeware program called Surf In Peace. In fact, I find I run it more and more lately as ads have gotten so ridiculous.
