How can I block an incoming call within a Meridian 1? The reason behind the question is, I'm receiving about 20 calls a day from what sounds like a fax machine on the other end, and I would like some info. on stopping that number from being terminated inside our telephone switch.

The most annoying problem with these fax-macines are
that they auto-repeat if the transmition fails, and if
the operator dials a non-fax number by mistake, it will fail and keep trying and trying and trying......
If the calls arrive at different extensions each time,
I think you have a problem with stopping them.
One option is to call-forward the set that gets the calls
to a fax, so you receive the fax.
Then you can see where the fax came from and notify them of the problem.
Don't think you can block a call based on the originating DN.

IF YOU HAVE SYMPOSIUM YOU CAN DO IT, IT'S THE ONLY WAY THAT I KNOW OF

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

The next time you get a call that sound like a fax just transfer the call to a fax machine on the pbx and let it receive the fax. That should stop (complete) that particular call. That will work on any fax call
