Hi,

Is there a way to block an extension to be dialled from an external call with VM PRO? For exemple, a client can dial the receptionist ext 221 but not able to dial the 225 (which would be the kitchen ext). The 225 is not part of the directory.

IP Office 500v2 R7 with VMPro.

Thanks

as long as you kept either the non-dialable extensions or deialable extensions to a particular range (e.g. 22X is dialable, 23x is not), then yes.

On the menu do a 22? and a 23?, tie one to a $KEY tranfer and the other to a disconnect.

Thanks Greybeard191

But they are in the same range. I have the option 2?? tie to $KEY but do you think I could add the specific extenion 225 with the disconnect or the 2?? will let it pass before?

I have never tried this but I would say it should work
Give it a try & confirm back.

Yes it's working!!!

I add the specific extension and tie it back to the main menu so it comes back to the menu if you dial this extension and the others extensions are working as supposed to!!!

Thanks guys !!!

you could try it, but I'm skeptical...

As a fallback you could add 220, 221, 222, 223 thru 229 on the menu and do the approriate transfer or disconnect as desired. makes for a big menu though.

There's probably a better way to do this... KHollady at ipofficehelp.com has a bunch of downloadable modules which mihgt give you some clues as to things that can be done with extension numbers.

I usually set a Variable Routing action. Set it to $KEY and put the entries that I want to route differently in the list. Then I connect No Match to the Transfer for extensions, and send the others wherever I want to. Connect the 2?? Touch Tone to the Variable Routing action instead of the Transfer, and viola!
