Merlin Magix comes in releases 1 through 4, but your question has the same answer for all releases.
If you don't have the manual for your Merlin, you can download it for free from Avaya.com. The Feature Reference Manual describes Call Restrictions in great detail.
From the programming console, select Extensions --> Restriction --> dial extension number --> Enter --> Select Unrestricted, Outwared restricted, Toll Restricted --> Enter --> Back.
If you're using ARS (dialing 9 and an outside number), you could lower the ARS FRL of the extension, and also lower the FRL of the N11 ARS table. This would block outgoing calls, except 911, which may be important.
How do I lower the FRL of the N11 ARS table. We are using ARS, and I would like to only allow 911 calls from this particular extension. Also, if I activate the Outward Restricted Option for this extension, will it still be able to make internal calls to other extensions?
Internal calls won't be affected. To lower the FRL go to the extensions menu > ARS Restrict, and enter the desired FRL there. Be cautious about having the 911 calls only allowed from a desired extension. If threre were a fire there, no one could call the fire department unless they went into a fire.
I just meant that for this particular extension, only 911 and internal calls would be allowed. All other extensions can dial 911 and make outside calls.
