I am trying to setup a restricted call group for a few phones, basically common area phones and they need local and toll free access with LD and International Blocked.

I have setup a short code in the group for these phones, with the following codes below I can dial local and that is it I have even changed the order of the short codes and still Toll Free is blocked when I have the First code put in for LD block

[9]1N; 1N Dial 5 Blocked Line

[9]1800N; 1800N Dial 22 PRI
[9]1888N; 1888N Dial 22 PRI
[9]1877N; 1877N Dial 22 PRI
[9]1855N; 1855N Dial 22 PRI

[9]N; N Dial 22 PRI

Those short codes look correct to me for very old versions of IP Office. If this is anything after 4.0 you should be dropping the [9] thing and doing this in ARS.

You can troubleshoot this in Monitor. Open Filters>Trace Options and click clear all. Then on the Call Tab select Targeting and if available ARS. On the ISDN tab click on Layer 3 Send and Receive.

Make a test call and post the results from Monitor here.

The system is running it looks like 3.2(55)

I will run call monitor and see what the dump looks like since I have to go on-site for that.

the one thing i would change is the featurwe for the barred numbers

use busy/barred instead of an invalid line group ID
it gives more meaningfull information on the users handset & is more obvious when looking at the config 6 months later.

Those codes don't work as you have used a dead line to bar calls instead of busy as Guru said. The system tries to dial out the unused trunk but can't so it then looks for another relevant shortcode which it finds in the [9]N code and uses that to dial out. Using barred/busy as feature will fix this :)

I will try those since on-site btw

Correction on build

I have attached screen shots of the codes and ARS and also the dump of the monitor

All 3 attachments are in the link

When I dial the 918886566326 from the test phone I get Call Barred now with the Barred tone.

You need to remove those [] from around the 9 in the shortcodes, but I would build a "barred" ARS and do all barring in there, by adding:

N; N Dial 22 PRI
1N; Barred
1800N; 1800N Dial 22 PRI
1888N; 1888N Dial 22 PRI
1877N; 1877N Dial 22 PRI
1855N; 1855N Dial 22 PRI

and pointing users to that ARS with:

9N N Dial New "Barred" ARS

Should do nicely :)

I will try that out, looks like just left over stuff from when it was a 3.2(55) release

so let me get this correct, change the shortcode, add it into ARS, but I just want to make sure that a select few phones are using the block since all other phones need to be unblocked for access

As I said above in those users shortcodes put 9N Dial N barred ARS table, all other users use the normal ARS table :)
