Hello, I didn't know where to put this so sorry if its in the wrong place.

I a run a business that has recently grown to have 4 retail location across the west coasts. Unfortunately, our POS / Inventory system only runs on windows so I have windows 2000 / XP boxes across the board.

I have recently had to deal with major losses due to spyware / adware. Ive lost 3 PC's in just a few weeks!!! It has gotten to the point to where i need to limit or revoke internet access to my lower sales clerks but not my more tech savy managers.

I'm not sure how to really do this because everyone shares computers. One minute a manager might be on a workstation, and then another minute, a newbie will hop on and visit innapropriate websitse when no one is looking.

Does anyone know of an account / login / password based software package that can be used to set internet rights on an individual user basis?

Or maybe there is a better solution!?! My basic goal is to keep my employees in check but not completely remove internet access for everyone. Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Thanks!

are you using an NT/2000 domain at all?

if so you could use either Group Policy to give false proxy info to certain users, or if need be, use ISA Server and have group memberships work for you to grant access only to those you choose....

How do the users get internet access right now?
Are your 4 sites linked up in any way?
