Okay... Before everyone jumps all over me about asking this question that has been asked in the past, I want to say this is not an HR issue. You can't say "fire the person who gives out the number"! That simply isn't going to happen.
There are circumstances where we need to block the CLID on internal calls (external isn't an issue as we can build an ARS with a W). Now, this is for a very high ranking public official that does not want his extension known internally or externally. I'm sure the media would love to get a hold of this to call direct which is why it can't happen. In politics your are liked and disliked by many people who would love nothing more to let it slip with your direct number. As we have a relatively short staff, I'm not in the business of changing his extension every time someone gets to know it.
I have tested a bridged appearance to another phone and it shows up with the bridged appearance number with the test name in brackets (not the number). Is there a better way to do this?
Thanks mucho!
Drew
