I have been getting several requests to block caller ID since the users have had this feature before we converted them over to Cisco.

The easiest and actually only way I have found to do this is make 2 new route patterns for local and long distance.
In the Route Pattern use *679.@ you could use anything instead of *67 but for the users sake…
Use their usual route partition, numbering plan, route filter and route list.
Set Calling Line ID Presentation and Calling Name Presentation to Restricted.
I was wondering if anyone else has done it this way?

Hope this helps.

Nice work and thanks for the tek-tip.

Do you use MGCP or H.323?

Don't suppose I could see a sample q.931 message from you voice gateway?

Who is your carrier?

I have been trying for several months now to get this working on our call manager. The best I can do is getting the caller ID to display the billing number of the PRI.

Thanks!

using mgcp with Quest as the carrier but had AT&T before. Try setting it up as a test, this works great and saved me alot of headache. This will display Unknown, but have also seen it say restricted.
this way you block it in callmanger and not let the phone company try to do it.

Hope this helps.
