Hello!

We have a manager that has been dealing with coming in every morning to abusive voicemails from a customer. The institution is not ready to completely block the caller however we would like to disable the ability for this caller to leave voicemails or call this station outside of business hours. If possible we would like to leave the ability for other incoming calls to leave voicemails. Is this possible with Avaya messaging? What are some other alternatives you could suggest? Thank you!

How is the call coming in? My first suggestion would be to create a vector rule based on the Caller ANI to either disconnect or route someplace else.

The institution needs to think about the manager, block the caller until the caller can moderate their behaviour.

Biglebowskis Razor - with all things being equal if you still can't find the answer have a shave and go down the pub.

Setup a station with EC500 using the number of the caller as the OPS extension. Put the station in a COR which cannot dial the managers COR. You may need to setup a separate COR for the manager.

If this person is calling your user's DID, then your provider can block that number from calling that DID within a specific time frame. Ideally, this is something that you can control yourself, but if your account doesn't include this kind of user management then you'll have to call them.
