What's the best approach to block one ddi, to a phone?

If possible, we would like to not renumber the phone to an other ddi or non-ddi number

You can use the option "Enable Non-DID Extension" in the cos of the phone.

"Non-DID Extensions allow the system to support sets that are not directly accessible to DID trunks. These calls are transferred to Non-DID Extensions by an Intercept Handling point (such as an attendant or a station)

So which is it? MCD5 or MiVB8

Assuming MCD5
Assuming Trunk Attributes are Absorbing all but digits that match extension
Assuming extensions are 4 digits long
assuming you have a complete list of all of your DID's

You want to use your speedcall table to act as a DID termination/translation table
You want to prepend digits to your extension numbers and create 7 digit peedcalls that do not conflict with existing numbers on the system

e.g.
[pre]
DID Digits Absorbed Digits Inserted Speedcall Speedcall Actual Digits
NPA-NXX-1000 6 1** 1**1000 1000
NPA-NXX-1001 6 1** 1**1001 1001
NPA-NXX-1002 6 1** 1**1002 1002
NPA-NXX-1003 6 1** 1**1003 1003
NPA-NXX-1004 6 1** 1**1004 1004[/pre]

In the example above, if you wanted DID 1004 to not terminate to 1004 your would change the actual digits on the Speedcall to go where ever you like.

Edit for clarification
- The DID examples are North America examples but the same method works regardless of the exact structure of the digits received
- All of the Speed calls should be created prior to changing the Trunk Attribute form to insert the digits. This will prevent any service disruption and can be done live

kwb, for the moment it's mcd5.
(Migrating will take place soon)

So you say I should do this for all DDI's first?
A one to one mapping, via the speedcall list and then change one speedcall number to block the phone?

So, if I understand correctly, the speedcalls have precedence over the actual (=same) number?

Not sure if I should want this for one number. But it's a way.

@MitelAppie,
I think your comment is the other way around: I want to block a DDI, you state you can forward a (DDI) number to a non ddi-phone?

kwb, after migration, can I just block the number on the MBG?

After you upgrade to MiVB8 you will want to utilize the built in DID table

Again, program every DID and define where it terminates.

Sounds logical to me!
Where can I find that menu item on 8?

(In mivb or mbg?)

Direct Inward Dialling System form on MiVB
