P11 on Vista. Found file missing one blob entry, which was copied back in. Paradox froze with message "blob has been modified". Ran check and repaired the database, restoring all blobs except that in the record in question (which could be reentered). All blob fields now lock and prevent entry. I deleted the file and replaced it with a backup made two days ago. Object fields still lock on right click. Assistance please, if there is still anyone here.

Note. Attempting to address the problem through the bde engine was not possible. BDE error. Replaced BDE engine with no change in file behavior.

Note 2: Neither Windows 7 search nor several others I am trying out find either pdoxusrs.lck or ...net files. Of course.

Final notes: Setting Share to true worked until I came to the record I need to update. Finally deleting that record and reentering it seems to have resolved the problem.

Not so final. I misinterpreted the recovery and possibly the behavior. Paradox behaves normally until I click on the object field / blob (or better missing blob) in records which seem to have lost their blob content. Clicking on the other fields in the same records has no impact.
Several (many?) records seem to have lost their blob content, mostly .doc files. Once the field is clicked, the record locks and Paradox freezes. I have not reinstalled Paradox yet, but reinstalling the BDE engine has not worked.
Note that I removed the original database, which I had repaired, replacing it with a back up copy I had made a few days earlier, so the MB file of that database is most likely not corrupt.
Any insights, as always, greatly appreciated.
