Blinking Text???

Does anyone know of a way to create blinking text in a textbox other than using a timer?

Well, I suppose there are other approaches. Unfortunatly the ones which come to mind are more likely to have an irregular blink interval, require a LOT more code / effort on you part, and -in general- be unsatisfactory. All of which is just the preamble to asking WHY the timer is SO objectionable?

I was just looking for an alternative.

... at the risk of repeating my self, ... -BUT WHY- (look for an alternative to a perfectly reasonable and widely accepted soloution). To ask for the alternative is to imply that SOMETHING is not 'satisfactory' to you. Armed with such information -PERHAPS- an alternative would appear to be more desireable, provoke discussion, ...

On the contrary. The use of a timer is very easy. However, most of the time there are many solutions for a problem/question. I simply wanted to explore all possibilities. Maybe there is something better or easier out there that I don't know about. Just call me curious.
