I came in today (Saturday)to make a few clock changes. When I checked in on the PBX, I saw the terminal was just a blinking cursor and not responding to the keyboard (but I hear the silent beeps when I press a key). I thought it was a loose connection, reset the terminal and couldnt get anything to work.

The only that I've done different with this lately, was I had the Port2 cable plugged into a genderchanger/null modem cable in an attempt to get Procomm working. I think I might have also set the Comm Port baud rates for the terminal to 9600. But thats it...and it was working at that time.

Don't know where to go from here. I've seen another thread or two with something like this, but didnt find an answer.

Tried changing the baud rates around with no luck either.

HELP! Thanks! =)

If enough errors come across a tty, it will shut down. You may have to go in through another tty to re-enable the disabled tty in LD 37.

I tried resetting the cabinets themselves and that didnt help either.

Guess I'll do some research on LD 37 and come to work a little earlier tomorrow.

if your on a larger switch, then your problem may be that your on j21 or j25 on the back of the cpu.. that port only works when that side is active.. if not it could ba a lot of things.. usually not to many bad logins, that one give you a code 408(?), saying your locked out.. a good thing to learn from that is always have two working ports in any switchroom

Monday morning and still locked out.

I'll try switching the port on the back of the terminal I suppose. Might have to call in a nortel consultant I know, as there's tons of issues and things I would like to learn from him anyway.

Hi,
did you try something else on the port (another terminal / procomm)?
If it doesn't, the terminal itself seemed to got stuck.
There should be a key-combination or switch-on procedure to completely reset and initializes the terminal and(!) deletes the setup completely. After configuring the setup it should work again.

I got my guy coming in, thanks to approval from my boss. Im sure we'll get this solved and I'll pick his brains as much as possible from there.

Well that was a quick fix. I forgot I had changed the BAUD rate last week...when I mentioned it to him, he set it for 1200 and POOF, all is well. DOH!

Also took care of some minor issues, and arranged a tape backup of our VM that he hasnt done since 2005!
