In a mailbox 6000 I have a recorded message that says press 6100 for option A or press 6200 for option B.

both 6100 and 6200 are forwarded to outside long distance numbers. 6100 and 6200 have NO mailboxes.

6000's mailbox has a COS with attribute 15 on (transfer to a ringing station)

My PBX supports "Blind Transfers" but when I press 6100 or 6200 the call comes back to Octel as if it isn't supporting blind transfers.

Do I need mailboxes for 6100 and 6200 with attribute 15?

Is there anything else I'm missing?

I have Octel Serenade VI.1.1-2 Model 300

Hi mscallisto,

6100&6200 need to have Attributes 1,15&26 as Blind Transfers.
Did you set up 6000 as a single digit Menu Number?
If not you will need to do so.
This tells the Octel to expect Max & prefix digits to follow. Max =2(6100&6200) prefix =6 (6xxx)

At least my ver does 4.0 model 300 so hopefuly yours is the same.

let me know how you get on ?

regards,

lever.

Thanks Lever...I was hoping there was someone out there.

I was able to get it to work after reading the manual about attrib 15. As you say above the "transfer to" mailbox needs a COS with 15.

The COS I picked did not have 1 or 26 but it seems to work just fine.

As for Single Digit Menu Numbers I confess I know little about this although I plan to read the manual.

We use our ACD for a small group of Customer Service people that hasn't changed much in 5 years. This was the first time a change was made that interfaced with Octel.

Octel is used for the most basic voice mail, the most sophisticated use is to transfer unanswered calls to pagers. I'm not real strong at Octel and as of this post I don't have a clue how to find out if 6000 was set as a single digit menu number, can you explain how to tell?

Yes,

Li u sd, hit return, see what's there.

Att 1 means no one can leave a message. (if there's no mailbox your ok)
Att 26 means Internal message features are turned off.

We just have it set up a little diffrent.

Good luck with the manuals. I've got about 12 of them.

Thanks again lever worth a star

I saw the list: and noticed the last two numbers were set up by me a few years back while setting up a main dial-in number for a new tennant.

I kept some copius notes that I'll need to revisit to see what the heck I did.

I recall discovering that I was able to take advantage of some stored single digit menu items like 1 for names directory # for your mailbox etc., but was unable to figure out how to add to that, like press 7 for Tek-Tips.

I guess this is where the manual comes in.

I'm actually the IT Network manager who had Telecom thrown at me. Data Networking is 10 times easier.

Thanks again

I know what you mean. Unless you keep the skills up it's so easy to forget.
But you must have been doing the Data Networking a long time to think it's easier.
