Blend 1 image into another

Hi,
can anyone give me an idea (or tell me where I might find a tutorial) on how to blend one graphic into another? I have a background image that is predominitely blue and I want to place an image of a blue eye on top of it. The problem is that if I just drop the eye image on top of it, it doesn't look right so I need to try and blend one in with the other.

Any help greatly appreciated!

There are a number of ways to do it - you could use the interactive transparency tool, you could adjust the overall transparency of the object through the object manager, you could just feather the object, etc, etc - can you post a jpg of the image on a site somewhere so people can look at it and perhaps give a better solution? Also, you've not mentioned if this is supposed to be a linear transparency, radial, overall?

Thanks JavabearSTL,I ended up just using the Interactive Transparency tool with a Uniform Transparency type on the eye image and it looks ok.

One other thing........before I used the Interactive drop shadow tool to create a shadow for some text and then just coloured the text the same colour as my backgroung colour so that I was just left with the shadow text. I want to do the same now but I have a background image as opposed to just a colour hence I can't just colour the original text as it will still be visable. Does anyone know how I can give my text a shadow effect alone and not be able to see the original block text?

I'm not sure I understand... have you tried using the dropshadow tool with your text in PP?

Here is a rather easy way to do what you are after.

1.) Create your text
2.) Color your text some obscure color not found in your image (i.e. purple or teal
3.) Create a drop shadow, and adjust to the distance you feel is appropriate
4.) Right Click on the text select Drop Shadow->Combine Shadow
5.) Select the Color Transparency Tool, and click on your text color.

I have found this can leave little color jaggies around the corners of your text. It is best to zoom way in (so you can see the grid) and select individual color blocks with the Color Transparency Tool. I have also notice that this doesn't always remove all of the similar colors, sometimes, you must click on many different blocks before it gets rid of all of them. I am sure with some experimentation, there could be a simple enough work around. Even employing masks may be beneficial for this.
