I have just installed 128MB of new PC133 SDRAM to an IBM Aptiva Desktop. It ran fine for a while, an hour or two, then when I turned it off and back on, no video. I thought maybe the video card, which is onboard, went bad. I installed a PCI Matrox video card. Video returned. It ran the memory check to 64MB. The original amount of RAM, and locked up. I rebooted, NO VIDEO. I removed the new RAM. No Change. I removed the old RAM. No Change. I put in only the new RAM. No Change. I tried booting with no RAM. I got the POST error for not being able to find the first 64K of memory. I've taken out the battery to clear the CMOS. No Luck. Anyone out there have any suggestions?

I had a very similar problem. For some reason during the new instalation another drive was created. Partition magic found the other drive when trying to fdisk did not. I put the two drives back together and voila the missing ram was back. |I have no idea how it happened or why but that is what worked for me. Good luck!
