blank screen in hyperTerminal when booting cisco router

Did your problem get fixed? What fixed it?
I to have the blank screen in hyperterminal problem.
Tried a couple different Hyperterminal programs and Putty.
Using DB9-RJ45 cable from Cisco 2821 router to Windows 7 on Dell Optiplex 760.
Same cable from the 2821 to an XP computer Works ok using Hyperterminal.

I had Console working with Hyperterminal on windows 7 when first got hyperterminal to work on win7 but blank screen now.

Hi,

Are you using the correct COM port? You can verify this by going to Device Manager and expanding Ports.

Yeah, tried all 3 com ports.

It's working now, all I did was check for update for com1 driver (driver already up to date), then changed .ht file 'open with' to Hyperterminal, It was set to open with Windows common something.
