Blank Return messages being generated

I am experiencing a problem with my Domino server where users open a mail and a blank reply message is being automatically generated and sent back to the sender. I m using Domino R5.09 and a range of R5's on the desktop. Has anyone seen anything like this in the past and how did you solve it?
