I have a master report with 4 subreports. They are linked to the master report by Vendor nr. The Master report uses the Vendor Master table which has all vendor nrs. Everything looks good and data is accurate for any of the subreports that have vendors with data.

The problem occurs when none of the subreports have a matching vendor nr – blank pages are produced for the master vendor nrs. How do I get rid of this blank pages?? HELP HELP

Did you set the subreports to Can Shrink: Yes? Do you have page break controls in your report?

Yes - the subreports are set to Can Shrink.

I do have a ForceNewPage property set in the Ven_Number Footer to After Section.

Is the Detail section of the main report set to can shrink? If the detail section is set to not shrink then it will stay the same even though the objects within the detail section are set to shrink. Just a thought.

The detail section is set to Can Shrink.

I think I know what the problem is - but I don't know how to fix it.

As long as the subreports have matching vendors - it's OK - but if the subreports have no data for that vendor (all 4 subreports) then the "blank page" has the vendor nr/name from the main report and the rest of the page is blank.

I would like the report(s) to print only if one or all of the subreports match the vendor from the Main report.
If no match - then don't print the vendor nr/name from the main report.

Does that make sense - is it possible???

I would attempt to create totals queries by Vendor that would count the number of records in the subreports. Add this totals query to the main report record source so that you can limit the vendors to only those that would have data in subreports.

Thanks dhookom....

That worked great. You really got me out of a jam...thanks again.

elaineva,
Glad to hear you got this to work. My reply had been very spartan so it required more understanding on your part.
