I have a report that its first record is on the second page. The first page has nothing on it and when I print it out, it produces a blank page and starts printing on the second page. Is there a way I can get the first record on the first page? Thx.

Hi !

Perhaps you have a group and for that group you have the "new page before" box checked.

If so, click the "x+2-button" to the wright of the "new page before", and there you write:
NotOnFirstRecord

I put NotOnFirstRecord in there but it gave me an error msg. - "The remaining text does not appear to be part of the formula". Should I put something else after the 'NotOnFirstRecord' phrase? thx.

It still doesn't work. I went into the design mode and I only have one grouping. On the grouping I right click and go into the format section. I check mark the 'New Page Before' and select its formula button. I put in the
not(onFirstRecord) and it still doesn't take care of the problem. Any other suggestions? I did look in "The Complete Reference Crystal Manual" (written by George Peck), and saw the same examples there. I don't understand why it isn't working. Thx.

Hi,

Have you checked the size of your sections in design mode? Sometimes when I've had a large report header section I've ended up with a blank page before records print. My assumption is that if the repeated sections (page header, page footer) don't fit on the page with the report header, it forces a second (blank) page. Resizing the report header has worked for me.

I would also suppress the Report Header.

When you preview and look at the first (blank) page, you should see some initials to the left showing which section is generating the page. What initials do you see in preview.

Suppressing the Report Header did do the trick. Thx guys!
