Using Outlook Express 6 in Windows 98SE.
Yesterday afternoon the text of all my emails suddenly went blank. The subject line is there but no message. This is true of new emails coming in as well as all emails in my computer - sent, deleted, etc.

I went to the Microsoft site and did the IE 6.1 upgrade, but it did not help. Plain text setting is not selected in Outlook Express. Is there some other setting in OE that might have "gone south" all a of a sudden?

Should I uninstall IE and reinstall? I do not have IE 6 locally, will need to download it I guess.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
George

What virus scanner (including version) are you using?

With OE closed, try Start, Run, regsvr32 inetcomm.dll, OK. Open OE & check.

THANK YOU smah!!!!

Your fix worked. You are my hero (or heroine).

You asked about my virus program. I'm not sure of the version, but it is McAfee. I have the subscription which gets updated automatically (almost everytime I log on)

Thanks again,
George

Glad that fixed it. The reason that I asked about the antivirus sotware is because there were a couple of older versions of McAfee that would do this if not patched (6.x I think), but that shouldn't be the cause in this case.
