I apologise if this is a TNG 101 question but I'm new to the use of this management tool. We are running caiOraA2_81 agents on Solaris 9. Using the GUI I have configured various thresholds/settings including instance availability via DB instance RWR group. The question I have is, is it possible to configure a monitoring blackout period (like in BMC Patrol) for instances that say undergo a coldbackup ? and if so, how is this achieved. If not, can someone recommend a workaround ?....what I'm trying to achieve is to disable the rwORA alert that gets generated when the instance is taken down for a known reason. My initial thoughts are to incorporate a stop & start of the agent in our coldbackup script if there are no other options....however this approach seems like cracking a walnut with a jack hammer, not to mention leaving some vulnerabilities like, what if the backup fails before restarting the agent etc...

TIA
