I just gave a Blackberry 7290 from Cingular (We have a BES server) to an end user the other day and they sent me this question:

Do you know why my blackberry turns off while in the holster? When I leave it in the holster for more that 20-30 minutes, the unit shuts down. The battery has a full charge and when I hit the power button after taking it out of the holster the unit will not turn on. However, when I take the battery out then put it back in it works. It also will activate when I plug it into the charger.

Problem only occurs when in the holster for a length of time, weird huh?

I've never heard of this problem, any ideas? Thank you in advance for your help!

I don't have a solution for you, but I can tell you that I've experienced holster oddities with my 7280. For example, during one driving trip I turned off the BlackBerry and put it into its holster thinking that would save its power until I arrived at my destination. Wrong! When I arrived and tried to turn the phone on, it complained of not having enough power to turn on! So, I had to charge it up before I could use it again.

I suggest looking at your profile settings.

I have seen people replace their BlackBerrys for odd behaviors such as rebooting every time one guy tried to read his e-mail and another person who had a new model than mine that side-by-side would not pick up the GPRS network.

Wish I could be of real help.
