I am in the middle of a Blackberry trail and have found the device more than meets our needs. The only problem I have is that the chiarman lives in an area that has bad reception for out chosen carrier. I was wondering if it would be possible to use more than one sim from different networks in the blackberry (asuming the hardware is not network dependant). Does this sound feasable. As long as I can set up GPRS it should work shouldn't it? or is the BES linked to a comination of the sim/device?

Thanks in Advance for your help

Kul.

I have 4 different BlackBerry handheld models (6710, 6750, 7280, 7750) on 4 different carriers (both GSM/GPRS and CDMA2000/1X) linked to my BES with no problem.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm trying to use one device on multiple carriers. I have spoken to a few more people today and have been told it is technically possible as long as but sims have GPRS and the carrier has provisioned them to access the Blackberry APN then this should work. The only problem is going to be getting the operators to provision Balckberry APN access - they can be really stubborn when it comes to helping customers.

I'm chasing my carriers now and will keep you updated.

Kul.

I take it you have a user which want to stay with a specific cellular network?

Otherwise, choosing a single carrier which would offer better coverage would solve your problem.

Yes somthing like that, It just happens to be the Chairman so it's a little difficult to force a change.

As long as he doesn't mind paying double or triple for mobile telecommunications...

Good luck with that.
