Hello,

I have a blackberry 7520 which should be connecting to the blackberry exchange server, and microsoft outlook running on a users computer. Everytime I open the desktop manager contact it tries to connect to the exchange server but fails with the following message, "The profile name is not valid. Enter a valid profile name." The sticky of the situation is that the blackberry software should be using the same exchange settings as MS Outlook which runs and connects to the server normally. Deleting and recreating the mail connection profiles under control panel->mail had no affect. Outlook still ran, and the desktop manager was still lost. Uninstalling Outlook and the desktop Manager and then reinstalling them both also had no affect. Thanks for the help.

Hi guys,

I fixed the problem on my own. Apparently there was a conflict with the default email program selected on the computer. Once I made sure that Outlook was the default then the Desktop Manager and Redirector for Blackberry ran fine.

I usually just delete the BB config off the machine and resynch. Seems to take care of it.

Under the following path you should find 4 folders. Delete them and resync.

C:\Documents and Settings\<profilename>\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Intellisync

Queeston For you guys

I have this same problem however when I go into IE to make outlook the default email program its not an opt to be selected.

I have reinstalled outlook and the blackberry software and I even ran the IE repair tool

Any other Ideas I can try.
