Blackberry devices and dial-by-name directory

Has anyone had experience with the Call Pilot dial-by-name directory and a Blackberry? I'm told that a caller can't navigate spelling a name unless they have the phone keypad memorized. Might be a stupid question but I don't have one to experiment and need an answer quickly. Thank you!

After getting to the directory and you press the number 1 and wait a couple of seconds the CP will tell you the first person in the directory and if you want to connect just press 1 again and it will scroll thru the directory untill you get to who you want then press # to transfer.

So does this mean that a caller cannot spell a name without frustration if they use a Blackberry? Are you talking about Call Pilot on a BCM? Thanks

It will work on a CP 100/150 too.
Are you saying that the Black berry user has a problem using the dial pad on their phone? If so then nothing that can be done when in the directory.If it is a small company you can use the CCR tree for it then for the directory press 1 then for joe press 1 for bill press 2 this only gives you 8 selections.

Yes. I'm told that the Blackberry keypad is different and unless you have a normal phone keypad memorized you cannot spell a name and have it match correctly. If this is a problem then it would have been good to know before we professional recordings done.

On a blackberry you can press alt then a letter and it will play the correct dtmf. Handy little trick when your trying to spell a name using a blackberry.
