black screen

when I open this program and only this program, my whole screen goes black except for the gui of the program. my taskbar is not there, nothing, when I minimize the gui on the screen, its completely black. I have to hit the windows key on the keyboard to bring up my taskbar. then I can navigate to another program or window. When this program is up and running, the screen is black. anyone?? anyone?? anyone ??

Sounds like the program is a DOS based program that runs in a fullscreen environment. What's the name of the program that is doing this? Enkrypted

I am working on a network, and all the other computers are fine, its just mine!! it is an access program. not dos. but insightful, and thanks for the quick response. still confused

Have you tried to run the Office repair utility? It could be some of the files needed for the Access program are damaged or corrupt.

What I would try doing is uninstalling Access from that machine and then reinstall it again. After doing so, try to open Access locally on that machine and see if it appears to be OK. If so, recreate your shortcut to your main database<I'm taking it that you are running Access through the network as well> and see how that responds.

If all else fails, backup any important data and do a complete uninstall of Office and then reinstall again to see if that clears up the problem.
