Black box in my report 1

HELP ME PLEASE !!!

I have created a report for the new service database I have written and i have a problem.

I have a lookup field in several forms for customer name, to select the customer name the users highlight the customer. Still with me ?

When I put the customer name into ANY report it prints out as a black box !!

Very stuck and confused - the data looks normal in the table !

Sounds as though the background color for that control on your report is set to black. In the design view of the report click on the control and then check the setting. On the formatting toolbar you should see 3 icons which affect the color of the background (a paint can), text (an "A&quot and the border (a paintbrush). Click on the paint can and select transparent (typically) or the color you want.

You can also do this via the property sheet by changing the back color setting. Best Regards,

Tried this.
May have missed a bit, If I make the field taller, it displays the next entries in the lookup field, but the selected one is entirely black, ive tried changing the text colour but no dice ?

Any other ideas ?

Ok I get it. If you put a list box on your report it will highlight the selection. Try changing it to a straight text box, you can do this via the format -> "change to" menu.

Yep, mdthornton. If you save a form as a report, ListBoxes and ComboBoxes get transferred as such . And I've found a few instances today where I definitely wanted to change that!

(Esecially when trying to arrange reports so that converting them to outside-of-Access formats leaves them complete and legible. Only certain controls are not ignored. File|Send allows conversion, but I'm not too crazy about the results . It's why I'm here today...)
