Hi there,

i have a strange problem with Flash 4: i don't seem to be able to compress a file's size by changing the jpg quality.

When i export a movie (swf file), the movie seems NOT to take into account the JPG settings i have put, as the quality of the image and the file size remain the same whether it's 100 or 10 jpg quality setting.

Please note that when i try to export a jpg still frame, the quality setting works fine.

Strange, innit?

Any ideas?

Thanks
Fil, East London

p.s. please help

Do this:
Double-click your .jpg file in the library.
Uncheck the Use imported JPEG data box and set your quality to 10.
You'll definately see a difference in quality & size in your outputed .swf!

thanks a lot oldnewbie, it did work.

(quite silly of them i think to have a default for images to keep their imported size unless you specialise otherwise)
