Bitmap/Tiff BLOB quiality.

I have an application that dynamically creates a recordset. The recordset is then used to create Crystal reports. 2 of the fields are either BMP or TIFF Blobs. The quality of the BlOBs in the viewer and in exported reports is severely degraded. The images look just fine when printed, however.
I've been unable to find a solution for this quality problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
