I've switched from Draw 9 on a PC to Draw 11 on a Mac. On D9 I had a button on the toolbar that would allow editing of bitmaps in Photopaint without seperately opening Photopaint. The help file in 11 says there's a button that can be added to the toolbar but I can't find one in preferences. How can I get this function operating?

When I receive a bitmap photo and I import it to Draw 11 the colors don't the same as when view in Preview and don't reproduce properly when printed. The photo darkens and any light brown, fleshtone or creamy colors tint toward the cold blue area and the print output is bad. Lightly shaded areas lose their color in dark saturated shades while the lighter shades aren't really effected. I know it's not the printer 'cause when I open the bitmap in Preview on the Mac it prints perfectly, exactly matching what's on the screen. Any advice could save the day.

Thanks...Foiler

I suspect your colour problem is due to the colour management but I have virtually no experience with MACs on this subject so can't help further.

Never used the mac version; but on the PC version in V11 you needed to adjust your colour correction to match the display/printer/internal colour settings.

on the PC it was under the menu TOOLS/Color Management

Also, whenever I have dealt with MAC vs PC image adjustment/editing -- the mac has always had it gamma darker than the PC. You can sometimes notice graphics developed on a MAC as Perfect on other macs, but when uploaded to a PC the image is super dark.

If the source of the pictures (person/artist/service bureau) hasn't calibrated their colour to match the scanners/printers/dispalys/software they have -- when they send it to you its going to be a mess if you do not have the same settings.
