Bitlocker and save issuez

I have a corporate laptop with bitlocker (drive encryption). It is also Win 7.

This is the second environment I have been in with this scenario. I find sometimes working on a split local FE, that saved work disappears. Sometimes I wonder if I clicked save, others I am certain I did and was not prompted to save any objects on close. Clearly the write operation is not completing before more IO happens. In an asynchronous world, I have to save less frequently which is hard when you are in the habit of saving often.

Anyone know of ways to fix or root cause on this issue? I strike out searching for generic io issues. Previously I stuck my USB SSD in to bypass bitlocker but that is not an option here. Security is really tight and justifiably so.

We use bitlocker in Windows 7 and I never experienced a problem with Access or any other application when it came to saving. I have also not heard of any co-workers with issues.

I have had coworkers with similar issues...

So if not bitlocker what might mess with Disk IO? McAfee I have seen both places. But I would not expect it. Nothing else jumps out at me and only optlocks seems remotely similar as an issue, hence the disk IO as primary suspect.
