hey its me again! how do you update a bios? i already downloaded the new bios from asus.com. it says something about having a bootable floppy with aflash.exe and the new unzipped bios on it. but i am still confused if anyone has some steps for me to follow i would appreciate it! thanks.

You've downloaded the bios so make a bootable floppy then copy the bios and the aflash.exe to it. Boot the system with this floppy and run the progran aflash. (If you do not feel comfortable doing this, DON'T!! You could disable your computer!)

what do you mean by disable my computer? will it not work ever again?

There's a possibility it won't work again.

Your BIOS is a little different than Windows. If you screw up Windows, a simple repair or reinstall fixes it.
The BIOS doesn't work like that. If something happens while flashing the BIOS, you may be screwed.

I'd recommend only doing this if you're comfortable with doing it. You don't have to be an expert on computers, it's not brain surgery, but if doing this stuff is like poking around in the dark, leave it the way it is.
