bios

i need info on a Proliant 5000 server ..i am trying to rebuild it ..but i cant get into bios to reset configuration..can anyone help..i have tried all keys i know to get into bios and it wont ..!!??

Have you booted off the SmartStart CD? The "BIOS" is basically a partition on the hard disk(s) and if the partition is not there, you do not get the prompt to get into the BIOS.

Download SmartStart v5.5 ISO image, burn it to CD and boot off that. The link below is to the HP Proliant 5000 webpages:

i had a hunch it was a bootable disc...i found the monster and it works...thanks for the info...i'll let ya know how this relic turns out
