I'm afraid a bit more info is needed. What brand PC is it? Or if a clone PC, what mainboard?
If you can find the make and model of board (including the revision number if at all possible) you can go to the manufacturer's website and download an updated BIOS. These usually just install from a DOS prompt.
But also, can I ask why you want to flash the BIOS. BIOS upgrades often simply fix small bugs or add minor extra features. Is there some specific problem you have with the machine? If not, it's proabably best left alone.
Go to your motherboards website and download both the Awe flash utility and the bios upgrade itself, be 100% sure you get the correct download for your board.
Download the read me file that will take you through the Flash step by step.
Only attempt to carry out the flash if:
1) You actually need to(if your system is running fine then don't bother)
and 2) you are sure you know what to do.
Warning* get it wrong and your board is DEAD!
Hope it goes well. Martin Vote if you found this post helpful please!!
