Hello, I have 2 Proliant SCSI storage towers and they are connected via a Compaq Smart2P PCI RAID Controller 194754-001 and when I attempt to use a Adaptec SCSI card to control a single SCSI drive (to boot from) I get the following error:
1706 - Extended BIOS Data Area Memory has been corrupted Smart-2 Array Controler Interupt 13h BIOS cannot continue.
If I shut the SCSI tower off and wait to turn them on after the computer boots, everything is fine, but it doesn't reconize the existing arrays. It will let me format and modify the arrays, but any changes will be reset the next time I reboot (beacuse I will have to turn the drive off to boot again).
I have tried setting the two controler on seperate IRQ's and disableing all other devices and no go. I have upgraded the BIOS on the Adaptec card, but can't seem to find any support for the Compaq Smart2P PCI RAID Controller. Also, there are no BIOS upgrades available for my MB. Does anyone have any sugestions??
Thanks in advance for your help!
