Can someone help me. I have a DNS server setup using BIND on Red Hat, but seems like some of the files in bind are corrupt. Can someone please tell me if re-installing BIND will overwrite the configuration and secondly the steps to reinstall directly from command line. I am only trying to fix the bind installation that is in place and get this secondary server working.

What is in your named.conf?
If you capture that, and the directory it uses for the data files you should be okay for an upgrade.
