Wouldn't use bind variables in PL/SQL statements from within Java. I would prefer to go with straight JDBC and parse together your SQL statements in Java.
Personally I tend to stay away from any kind of Stored Procedures so that I don't get locked to anyone RDBMS. If you stay with straight JDBC then your application can easily be ported to a multitude of different RDBMS Systems. Wushutwist
