This problem is probably a rather simple one. Hoping someone can fill me in here, as it would be nice to get this going ASAP.

We have our internal network as ourdomain.biz, and our mailserver is an eternally hosted mail.ourdomain.biz that also houses our web site at Our internal network really has nothing to do with the external nameserver stuff, and is not accessibly from the outside (except through ssh and port forwarding). The problem comes from trying to use sendmail to send to paul@ourdomain.biz. Our server (which runs DNS and sendmail) thinks "Oh shoot, I don't even have to leave the domain for this one!" and then sends it to my local mailbox. It never leaves to the outside. How do I specify that mail is not to be kept inside, but to direct it to our external mail server, where I can pick it up?

Oh, forgot to mention that I'm using FreeBSD. I did not set up this BIND configuration, but am trying to support it. Another programmer recently left, and he was also functioning as sysadmin. His code was spaghetti, and I'm realizing that so was his other work. Any help would be obliged.

Sendmail is probably configured to accept that mail.

Look at file called /etc/mail/local-host-names.

That is probably where it is configured.
