whats the identifier for the mouse wheel? I need to remove its binding.

I know its not 1 or 3, and have tried with 2, 4, and 5.

have also tried:

bind all <MouseWheel> {}

thanks in advance

On *UN*Xes the mouse wheel is linked to <4> & <5>.

From the listbox.tcl file in the Tl/lib directory:
Support for mousewheels on Linux/Unix commonly comes through mapping the wheel to the extended buttons. If you have a mousewheel, find Linux configuration info at:

I should have explained that its not the scrolling of the wheel mouse that is the problem but rather when the mouse wheel is clicked. and neither 4 or 5 seem to have any effect on that. I may have to look into bind <<Paste>> to see if i can override it. I know its a regular function in UNIX for clicking the mouse wheel. But there has to be away to get rid of it.
