Hi All
i'm using Bind 9.2 On Centos 4.4 As a DNS server for small
4 computers LAN (Win Boxs as well).
The named environment is not Chrooted.
lately i'v noticed that the named process stoped by itself
when I ran $ service named status
i get: " connect failed: connection refused " error.
running $ service named start
will get things up and running again but, this will last until the next time named will stop without any notice.
here is my named.conf file:
==========================================================
// Default named.conf generated by install of bind-9.2.4-//16.EL4
options {
directory "/var/named";
dump-file "/var/named/data/cache_dump.db";
statistics-file "/var/named/data/named_stats.txt";
allow-transfer { 192.168.1.0/24; };
version "example.com have some security measure";
allow-query { 192.168.X.X/24; localhost; };
// query-source address 192.168.X.X ;
// query-source address 192.168.1.0/24 port 53;
// forwards { 192.168.1.X }
//forward only;
// };
};
zone "." IN {
type hint;
file "named.ca";
};
zone "example.com" IN {
allow-query { any; };
type master;
file "example.com.zone";
};
logging {
category lame-servers { null; };
};
include "/etc/rndc.key";
===========================================================
i have leveled up the loggin mode using $ rndc strace
but i got nothing i can work with.
What am i missing ??
