Hi,
two days ago I started the thread333-879450 about downloading pdfs.
I searched and found two different aproximations to the problem:
One is to use adodb.stream object to do the job (but I found out that Microsoft offers several patches to deactivate that object due to security problems)
The other was provided by CassydyHunt, who answered me sending me this link from Microsoft

This approach is to make a com object that makes the work

This works, but as I'm looking for a solution that works in every or almost every case, I'm not sure that I can register my COM object in any server that holds my clients's sites (I don´'t provide hosting, just programming)

¿Suggestions? ¿Ideas?

Sandra

I believe the security patches only disable the stream object from being scripted on the client, not on the server.

But I could be wrong.

I have been using the stream object for years to accomplish that task and have never had an issue.

Try out the code located at:

I wrote that 3 years ago and it still works fine.
