Hi

If I have a file that contains data that are binary (ie written to
with the Outputstream objects) , & I do not know what types of data is
written in witch order (ie. I dont know if it is string or int , or in
witch order) , is there any way of reading & converting the data in
the file

Hope it makes sense what I am trying to explain !!!

Thanks

Christiaan

Based on how you stated your post, no.

When files are written in a proprietary format you must know the format to read the file yes?

It helps a lot yes.
Though if you know the data that was written you can sometimes figure out the fileformat at least in part by looking at the content in a hex-editor.
