Hi Guys,

System is 3300 Cxi with embeded voicemail (16 ports), MCD 5.0.

Customer is asking us to set up bilingual voicemail as follows:

Thank you for calling ABC, for english press 1, para espanol presione 2.

If caller sellects 1, then A/A should say: If you know the extension of the person you'd like to reach dial it know or listen carefully for the following options: Press 1 for Finance, Press 2 for customer service, Press 3 for Web support.

The question is, can callers still be able to dial extension numbers after having sellected either option 1 or 2 (English or Spanish)?

Regards,

Daniel

This is entirely possible
you will need to setup different MLAA trees for each language
so that pressing 1 on the initial greeting will take you to an English MLAA and 2 to a Spanish MLAA
It will take a bit of setting up and testing but it does work
Also dialing the extn number will work at anytime regardless of language

Hi Supernova,

If I create two different trees this will partially work, the system has no way to know the caller speaks one or the other language.

Say my primary language is english and secondary spanish. If I set initial greeting to: Thank you for calling, for english press 1, para espanol 2.

tree 1. Press 1 for DeptA, 2 DeptB, 3 DeptC. If caller chooses 1, the system will say: You are being transfer to DeptA. Note the words "Your are being transfer to" are said in ENGLISH.

tree 2. Presione 1 para DeptA, 2 para DeptB, 3 para DeptC. If caller, who speaks Spanish, chosses 1, the system will say IN ENGLISH: You are being transfer to DeptA. Here the system should say: Usted esta siendo transferido a DeptA IN SPANISH.

Regards,

Daniel

Each mailbox language can be designated so the the prompts are correct for the language

The issue you will have is with the dial an extension as this cannot be done with a menu node mb

If the digits reference a standard extension type mailbox they can dial an extension but will take a message after the greeting

Embedded mail is quite limited in this regard

I'm gonna have to get familiar with NuPoint, we have a couple of licenses that came wth our vMAS. This will be my summer project... if I have time.

I have also found the embeded v/m with some limitations.

Thanks for your coments guys. Regards,

Daniel

Nupoint is much better
