Big problem

I just started learning assembly

and i am having a problem

here is my set up i have masm 6.11 and AE utility

so i write my code and i save file with .asm extension

then when i try to assemble it tells me that ML.exe could not run

or sometimes it tells me that it cannot find file .asm which is in the same directory as ML.exe

please help

Do you have your path set to the directory ml.exe is in?

I am using windows 2000

you mean path as a variable
yes it does point there

What are you using to run masm?
