A while back, I suddenly found it impossible to permanently disable Content Advisor. Everytime I launch IE (version 5.00.2314.1003CO), I receive a message saying, "Please check your Content Advisor for missing information. Click the Tools menu and then click Internet Options. On the Content tab, check the Content Advisor settings."
I do this, EVERY TIME IE is launched. After viewing the settings, I am able to disable Content Advisor. I am not able to disable Content Advisor unless I first view the settings, and if I do disable Content Advisor, it expires at the end of that browser session.
This is a terrible nuisance, as I have to do this EVERY stinkin' time I launch IE. I am afraid I have inadvertently deleted a dll or registry key somewhere that affects Content Advisor, but I have no idea what to do about it. I am unable to uninstall IE, thanks to the wonderful people at Microsoft. I have tried running setup to reinstall the program, but it does no good.
I would be forever grateful to anyone who could help me with this problem. Oh, and I'm running Windows 98 if it matters.
Thanks in advance,
James
