Hi, we have a very big pb in our compagny since we had changer our provider email server

when we attach an Excel or Word document to an email

the target correspondant have a following message when he try to open the attachment?

"In witch format do you want convert this file...."

noone conversion is OK and the file stay unreadable

thanks in advance

Save your attachments as Office 95. Glenn A

thanks but the same pb occurs...

If someone knows this error....

thanks in advance.

What version of office are you using vs. what version of office does the receiver have? Sounds like the Word and Excel program he has is not recongnizing the format of the file even though they are .doc or .xls file types.

I don't think it is anything that Outlook is doing. joegz

We have:
MS Word 2000 v9.0.2812
MS Excel 2000 v9.0.2812

MS Outlook 2000 v9.0.0.2814

we have these versions since a long time but our pbs occur since we have changed of email server provider...

first we thought about pb with special caraters on the MS document name... some errors were resolved but some of them persit...

What version of Office does the recipient have? Is it only one person that is having problems with your attachments or is it several?

Here is one way to determine if the problem is with your provider. Send a message with an attachment to yourself to some web based e-mail like Hotmail or Yahoo. If the attachment comes through fine and you can open it then it is not the provider.

hi,
we have found a temporary solution,

if we don't include special caracther on the text body (à,â,ç,è,é,ê,ë,î,ï,ô,oe,ù,û) we never have problem....

see you
