Still have had no success with Linux.

I am presently trying to install Mandrake 8.2 onto my system. I have hda with W98se on and want Linux on hdc.

The Mandrake install hangs when installing ext2(?) utility programs. If I restart the computer with hda as the boot drive then Win98se starts. If hdc is the boot drive then all I get is 'Stage 1' and nothing else.

There is no sign of any bootloading programs doing their job properly.

Can anyone help?
