I'm currently working in a small company. Started just over a year ago in support with small bits of development work (VB6 & VB.NET). I started on €23,500. After 6 months gotta "bumped" up to support/development with a €25,000 contract. At my year review I was awarded a contract of €30,000.
I made a point in my review that I would like to concentrate on development in .NET & try and leave support behind.
After a couple of months I didn't see much change so I decided to send out my CV. I got a few phone calls and had an interview with a multi-national company where I got offered a development position in C# for €30,000. I will be developing a new in house software product from the ground up (I'll be the most junior on the team).
I accepted the position and handed in my notice. Upon doing this the small company offered me a change of position to work on development in .NET for 4 days and support for 1 (VB6 & .NET). I refused this and decided to take the multi-national company's offer.
Have I made the right decision you think? Mixing my CV with VB.NET & C#? It sounds like I'm going to recieve a lot of training in this new position but I've no idea what it's like to work for a big company. Would I have been better to stick with the small company?
I don't really know what answers to get to this, the only opinions I have really had are biased (Company/Agency).
